Reference Library

The Reference Library contains reference material on the methods, notations and ideas behind my writing.

The articles and case studies on this site focus on real problems and the decisions behind them. Rather than repeat the same background in every post, I keep it here, as concise explanations that can be read on their own or followed from a link when a term or method needs more context.

Libraries

Architecture

Engineering

Software engineering practices and notations, such as the C4 model, UML and Git branching strategies. Coming later.

Delivery

Approaches to planning and delivering change, such as Agile and SAFe. Coming later.

How the pages work

  • Short and practical. Each page focuses on what is useful in practice, not the full detail of a standard.
  • Linked to the source. Where a method or notation has an official source, the page links to it for the complete picture.
  • Kept current. Pages are reviewed and updated over time, and each one shows when it was last reviewed.
