I’m a UK-based Solutions Architect with over 25 years’ experience designing and delivering systems on the Microsoft stack. I work where business goals meet technical decisions: shaping requirements, choosing the right architecture, and making sure it holds up in production. I’m interested in where AI genuinely improves a system, and where it doesn’t.
I’ve worked in both SMBs and large enterprise organisations, and I’ve stayed hands-on throughout, combining architecture with engineering and database administration.
I’m looking for a full-time Solutions Architect role (or similar, such as Principal or Lead Engineer, or Technical Architect). I’m based in West Sussex, near Brighton & Hove, and I’m looking for remote-first roles, with hybrid working considered within reasonable commuting distance.

Technology: .NET (C#), Microsoft SQL Server, Azure and applied AI.
Highlights
Platform architecture, Accurate UK
I owned the architecture of a bespoke background screening platform with more than 90 applications and services, around 20 production databases, and multiple client and vendor integrations. I worked closely with leaders across business, product, engineering, security and infrastructure, and the platform continued to take on new client and vendor integrations throughout.
Post-acquisition integration, Accurate UK
After Accurate Background acquired Vero Screening, I played a central role in integrating the UK platform into the global technology organisation. This included designing a new fulfilment system that let Accurate’s global teams use the UK platform’s criminal record check integrations with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Disclosure Scotland.
Migration to Azure, Vero Screening (now Accurate UK)
I owned the end-to-end migration of the platform’s data backend from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL Managed Instance, with only a few hours of downtime. More than 40 database-dependent applications and services moved across to the new data platform.
Leading a distributed team, HireRight
I led an engineering team of 12 engineers and QA specialists, 5 in the UK and 7 in Estonia, building a background screening platform for EMEA and APAC. I stayed hands-on in architecture, engineering and database administration alongside the people leadership.
